The Maplewood Police Department's Community Service Bureau is supervised by Det. Sgt. Reeves. The Community Service Bureau is focused on building and integrating relationships with residents, as well as businesses within the Township of Maplewood. In addition, Det. Sgt. Reeves oversees the L.E.A.D. Program and Blue Angel Program.
This safety program aims to aid older adults who are either over 55 years of age or medically impaired and are frequently alone. Operation Blue Angel gives emergency services quick access to a residence if the resident is unable to open the door.

The Junior Police Academy is a one week program that helps show the participants how a police department functions and serves its community on an everyday basis. It is very important for the young men and women to be able to see that the job of a police officer may be very different from what they may have seen on television or read on the internet.
Some of the planned activities include Drill and Ceremony, Physical Training, Teamwork Building, K-9 demonstration, and Motor Vehicle Stops, among many other exciting activities that will be offered. During the week the participants will be taught to practice the discipline, compassion, and team work that our officers exhibit on a daily basis.
