It is the Policy of the Maplewood Police Department to investigate all complaints of alleged misconduct, wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior by any employee of the department. A thorough and impartial examination of the factual information regarding a complaint will be made in every investigation. The Maplewood Police Department accepts complaints from citizens at anytime, day or night regardless of time or day of the week. Complaints can be made in person, over the phone or in writing and can be made anonymously or by a third person. If you cannot come to us, we will arrange a suitable location to come to you.
*Individuals who seek to file a complaint will not be asked about their immigration status.
All complaints that are filed with the department are reviewed by the Internal Affairs Unit. Complaints may be handled by internal affairs personnel or referred to a supervisor depending on the nature of the complaint. Upon completion of the investigation a final disposition is determined. You will be notified of the disposition of your complaint in writing.
