The members of the Crime Prevention Bureau are determined to deter crime by educating the public on the most effective methods. The Crime Prevention Bureau actively provides the following services to the community:

• Free home and business security surveys
• Child identification events
• Community group crime prevention presentations and seminars
• Crime prevention news releases
• Distribution of security reminders
• National Night Out Against Crime event
• Neighborhood Watch program
• Proactive crime prevention initiatives
• Vehicle theft prevention

The Maplewood Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit is headed up by Det. Sgt. Scott Reeves and staffed by a cross section of eager and dedicated officers from a variety of backgrounds.
